Korean dramas has been invading the Philippines entertainment for so long now and recently a film in Korea has been garnering an Oscar Awards and that is a reason alone to know KOREA!

1. Home to the Best Airport

Incheon Airport

Incheon International Airport was named the world’s best for the 12th year running at last year’s Airport Service Quality Awards. Why? The gardens, free showers and sauna probably helped.

2. It has a Love Island

Or as what they say, EROTIC THEME PARK OR SEX-THEMED PARK. The island itself has phallus statues, sculptures of humans in flagrante and interactive exhibits on masturbation cycle. It also the biggest island in South korea.

3. Jjajangmyeon is one of the most popular dishes in Korea.

Jjajangmyeon is a Koreanized Chinese entree comprised of thick noodles topped with a black bean paste.

This noodle dish has a special history behind it as one of the most popular meals sold in Korea, and more than seven million bowls are dished out each day!

4. There are more than 200 different kinds of kimchi

Kimchi (김치), the national dish of South Korea, is a name almost synonymous in the country with eating a meal. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner, a meal is not considered complete without a side of kimchi.

5. Futuristic Architecture

The 1,819 foot Lotte World Tower, which opened last 2017, is the fifth tallest building in the world and nearly twice the height of the Shard in London. It has an amazing architecture as well.

Unlike here in the Philippines, Koreans don’t need to wait too long for their internet to be fix and there is free wifi everywhere! Hooray for them!

9. The babies born are already 1 year old.

I happen to know this fact because of my fave girl band. My fandom always says that I should add 1 on their age and I did not even question why. It is just the way it is.

10. They have a different tradition when in comes to relationship.

Duing Valentine’s Day, women give chocolates and gifts to their husbands or boyfriends to show their love.

On March 14 ,which they call the WHITE DAY, is when men give gifts to their girlfriends and wives—with data showing that they typically spend about three times as much as they received on Valentine’s Day.

On April 14, which they call the BLACK DAY, is when singles come together to “mourn” the fact that they are single by eating bowls of jjajangmyeon.
