1. Chocolate Moron

In our cuisine, moron [the stress is placed on the last syllable; also spelled morón or muron] is a rice cake similar to suman. This chocolate moron that is made up of ground glutinous rice also known as “malagkit” being cooked in coconut milk. Moron can either be mixed or plain with cocoa or chocolate .

Price Range : Ranges from 5-4 plastic pieces for Php 100.00 (Note that per plastic has 5 chocolate moron)

2. Binagol

Binagol

Binagol is a delicacy made from the root crop “Taro” or “GABI” in (Filipino) our language. The name Binagol came from the word “bagol” which means coconut shell. It offers a distinct taste to the pallet and is wrapped in a unique packaging.

Can be found in : Ormoc’s Pier
Price Range : Php 35.00 per piece or you can ask the seller and buy this for Php100.00 for 3 pieces.

3. Cassave Cake

Cassava Cake is a classic Filipino dessert made from grated cassava (manioc). Cassava is also known as kamoteng kahoy and balinghoy in the Philippines.

4. Puto Kutsinta

Filipino Treats

Kutsinta is a rice cake (puto) with a jelly-like texture made from a mixture of rice flour, brown sugar, and sodium hydroxide (or caustic soda also known as lye). Yellow food coloring or annatto extract is then added before the puto is steamed in small ramekins. After it’s cooked, it is topped with grated coconut or added syrup (latik) for sweeter taste. Puto Kutsinta is a very popular merienda snack throughout the Philippines and its name’s origin is very much debated.

5. Ormoc’s Pineapple

Ormoc Pineapple

Ormoc’s queen pineapple is a dwarf, rough and thorny variety, yet sweet and succulent on the inside. The significance of the piña is that Ormoc is known for its great pineapples. For the longest time, this has been recognized as the Pineapple generating city in visayas.

This can be found in leading supermarkets almost anywhere in Cebu but if you are visiting here in Ormoc, why not grab a bite?
