WHAT'S IN THIS GUIDE?
Cebu MyBus operated when SM Seaside Mall opened because the fare for taxi and motorcycle is an expense that a lot of people don’t want to lavishly spend on a daily basis.
SM MyBus is owned and operated by Metro Rapid Transit Service, Inc., a joint venture between SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and JAM Liner, Inc. It started with 33 buses only but today there are a total of 77 buses running around the city, these buses are manufactured by Mercedes Benz, Daewoo and Volvo.
The Cebu myBus is PWD-friendly, GPS and CCTV-enabled making it a safe, secure and friendly transport service around Cebu. It can can accommodate 42 to 90 passengers, including standing passengers.
MyBus / Eplus CARD
- When MyBus first started, passengers are required to buy the MyBus Card or e-Plus Card.
- On-board tapping (Automated Fare Collection) has been implemented on most buses. For the convenience of all, myBus encorages the use of 1 myBus card per passenger. In the meantime, multiple tapping on a single card will still be allowed.
- It can be bought at SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City or at the Mactan Cebu International Airport for the price of PHP 200 which an initial load/credit of PHP100.
- You can also use your ePlus card in buying from ePlus.ph accredited merchants like SM Bowling, SM Cinema, SM Food Court, Star City, SM Skating, Eploreum, Wendy’s, Chef Tony’s and etc.
Where to re-load the card?
- SM Cinemas at SM Seaside City and SM City Cebu
- MyBus stations at SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City, and Lawaan/Linao
Is it required to buy an E-plus Card?
- The good news is that starting January 7, 2017, MyBus has been accepting cash payments at SM City Cebu Terminal for the routes going to SM Seaside City, Talisay and airport.
Note: You cannot reload your cards in any of the bus. You need to make sure your cards always have enough load.
