✓ OPTION 1 (BY VAN)

Entry Point is in ORMOC PORT.

CHECK FAST CRAFT SCHEDULE & FARE HERE

From the port, walk to Ormoc City Terminal near the Ormoc Public Market/2go Express ticketing.
Then, ride a VAN bound for Hilongos/Maasin. Be sure to inform the driver that you will hop off at Hilongos Public Market. Fare is PHP 110.00 – PHP 280.00 ( SGD$ 2.75 ,US$ 2.2, € 1.83) – ( SGD$ 7.00 ,US$ 5.6, € 4.67) . Travel time is about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
At the Market, ride a Pot2x or tricycle or motorcycle to Adoration Monastery of Mama Mary and inform them to wait for you. Fare is about PHP 200.00 one way ( SGD$ 5 ,US$ 4, € 3.33)

Wait for any motorcycle or tricycle in the area or ride a habal-habal.
Note: You can arrange for your motorcycle driver to wait for you so that you won’t have a hard time going out of the area.

Entry Point is in CEBU PIER 4.

From Pier 4, ride the Slow Boats (Roble Shipping Lines or Gabisan Lines) & Fast Boat bound for Hilongos. Fare is about PHP 320.00 ( SGD$ 8.00, US$ 6.4, € 5.33) for Slow Boats and PHP 520.00 ( SGD$ 13, US$ 10.4, € 8.67) for Fast Boats/Crafts. Travel Time is about 5-6 hours for the slow boats and 2-3 hours for the fast boat.
At the Market, ride a Pot2x or tricycle or motorcycle to Adoration Monastery of Mama Mary and inform them to wait for you. Fare is about PHP 200.00 one way ( SGD$ 5 ,US$ 4, € 3.33)

For women, the hem of your dress or skirt must be lower than your knee. Women in sleeveless dress ,sleeveless blouses and super short shorts are not allowed inside the complex. If you insist on wearing sleeveless shirts or mini shorts, bring a scarf to cover your shoulders and legs.

For men, you must wear pants or jeans and a decent shirt.

3. Can I bring food inside the church?

Yes, you can.

4. Can I wear slippers or sandals?

Yes for male and female.

Why You Should Visit this Place?

✓ RELIGIOUS PLACE

Adoration Monastery of Mama Mary is located in Brgy. Marangog, Hilongos, Leyte, Philippines. It is situated east of the town proper of Hilongos.

The road to Adoration Monastery is not cemented but can easily accessible by any kind of vehicle. It is approximately 12 kilometers away from Hilongos Public Market.

You need not worry yourself in getting to the church itself as steps are properly formed and concreted. There are plenty of angel statues that will greet you as you ascend to the church.

I also witnessed an eagle flying in the sky and it was an very amazing moment for me. So, don’t forget to look up at the sky, inhale everything and exhale all at once.

✓ CULTURE

The different way to worship someone is a great experience one should not miss. A lot of observations can be gain here. The lighting of the different candles. They have different types of candles that have symbolizes different meanings.

The picture above is where one lights the candle. Before and After lighting the candle, a prayer is said.

For the culture seekers out there, this is a place for you.

Just few meters from the main chapel is a Marian Garden, a grassy open space that features a grotto with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette Soubirous.

We did not get a chance to witness the Marian Garden because we went to the Blessed Sacrament as this will close at around 11:30am and will be opened at around 1:00pm.
