LAKE DANAO
Eversince the day that I started having my own thoughts, one tourist destination that I really consider as a destination is Lake Danao. My family used to hang out there.
Lake Danao is a guitar-shaped lake. It is the most popular tourist attraction in Ormoc.
Lake Danao’s is situated just 18 kilometers northeast of Ormoc City proper, the lake sits at an altitude almost similar to Tagaytay’s. It is part of the 2,100+ hectare Lake Danao National Park and is surrounded by the Amandiwin mountain range.
Food vendor awaits you at the lake. They sell “paluto” or “to cook” foods. It is actually cheap so you need not worry about the price.

ACTIVITIES IN LAKE DANAO
1. KAYAK YOUR WAY IN AND OUT OF THE LAKE
This is by far the activity that I have not experienced ever in my life here at our lake because my parents said that it is very dangerous to swim in the waters and this has been imprinted in my brain. So, I really have no experience riding the kayak here but I see so many locals doing it in any case.
2. DINE WHILE IN A FLOATING COTTAGE
The guitar shape lake offers a floating cottage in the area for a fee. I will tackle the rates below.
This is a good way to unwind. Just be wary when the wind is blowing hard because the styro foams and your trash will be blown away by the strong wind.
3. EAT DIFFERENT KINDS OF LOCAL CUISINES
They have a lot of different cuisine for a certain food that is not very common to me, at least. It was a moment for me since I am a food enthusiast as well. You might as well try the foods here.
The local’s stalls are at the 2nd entrance. Just before the lake. You can easily recognize them.
4. LOOK AT THE OVERLOOK
This was a bit new for me. I visited the lake recently and was told about the overlook so I needed to see it up. When I was there, the overlook was destroyed. At least, there is still the ground floor. Just be careful y’all.
5. SWIM AND CHILL
Don’t forget to swim since the lake is very friendly. They say that no one really knows the depth of the lake so be very careful. Don’t drop your valuables because for sure, you won’t retrieve them.
6. GET SOME INSTA-WORTHY SHOT
Are we out in the woods?
