10 Best Things to Do in Oslob, Cebu

1. Swim with the Harmless Big-Mouth Whale Sharks



  • Description: Harmless Creature Diving Spot. Be prepared to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.
  • Location: Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Oslob, 6023 Cebu
  • How to Get There: Simply go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and look for buses bound for BATO via OSLOB. Fare (Php150-200 or $3-4). Time (3-4 hours bus ride). Tell the driver that you are going to WHALE SHARK WATCHING in OSLOB.
  • Fees: PHP 1500.00 or  $30.00 – SCUBA DIVING (without GEAR) for foreigners; PHP  600.00 or  $ 12.00 – SCUBA DIVING (without GEAR) for locals
  • Operating Hours: Whale Shark activity is available daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM only.
  • Notes: The activity is good for 30 minutes only. Diving and snorkeling are limited in time and people. The activity is by batch.

2. Sun bathed at Sumilon Island

  • Description: Sumilon island is a 24-hectare island off the coast of Cebu and a great place to spend a day (or even a night) and escape the city. The island is a marine protected area and known for its stunning dive sites. 
  • Location: Southeast coast of the Municipality of Oslob, Cebu, and is under the administration of Oslob
  • How to Get There: Simply go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and look for buses bound for BATO via OSLOB. Fare (Php150-200 or $3-4). Time (3-4 hours bus ride). Tell the driver that you are going to Sumilon Island.
  • Operating hours: 7AM to 5PM daily
  • Boat fee: PHP 2,000-3,500 per group, good for 10-15pax — you may opt to join other groups as well.

3. Swim&Pose at Tumalog Falls



  • Description: You need to be careful in taking your steps because the road is very steep, you can continuously fall and hurt yourself. It was good that when we went there it wasn’t raining because the road might get slippery and the surrounding of the falls muddy.
  • Location: Southeast coast of the Municipality of Oslob, Cebu, and is under the administration of Oslob
  • How to Get There: Simply go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and look for buses bound for BATO via OSLOB. Fare (Php150-200 or $3-4). Time (3-4 hours bus ride). Tell the driver that you are going to Tumalog Falls.
  • Operating hours:  6:00 am – 5:00 pm Daily
  • Entrance fee:  PHP 20.00 or  $0.4

4. The Cuartel

  • Description: The Cuartel is an impressive, though unfinished, building from the mid 1800s. It was supposed to be a barracks for the Spanish soldiers but wasn’t yet complete by the end of the Spanish Occupation so was never actually used. 
  • Location: Oslob, Cebu
  • How to Get There: Simply go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and look for buses bound for BATO via OSLOB. Fare (Php150-200 or $3-4). Time (3-4 hours bus ride). Tell the driver that you are going to Oslob Heritage Park

5. Baluarte Ruins

  • Description: Another worthwhile site in the Oslob Heritage Park is the Baluarte Ruins. Baluarte means watchtower and this watchtower was built in the late 1700s so guards could watch against potential invasions.
  • Location: Oslob, Cebu
  • How to Get There: Simply go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and look for buses bound for BATO via OSLOB. Fare (Php150-200 or $3-4). Time (3-4 hours bus ride). Tell the driver that you are going to Oslob Heritage Park.

6. Binalayan Hidden Waterfall

  • Description: This great waterfall near Oslob is the Binalayan Hidden Waterfall. Despite the word ‘hidden’ in the name, it’s no secret so there is often a crowd.
  • Location: Oslob, Cebu

7. Oslob Museum

  • Description: After your trip to the Cuartel Ruins, do stop by at Museo Oslob to see some of the artifacts and antiques on display. These are the items you can find in one’s home, like old pianos, old furniture, and old mirrors.

8. Lady of Immaculate Conception Church

  • Description: Made from coral this church stands in view of the waterfront. A real relic from the Spanish era. Beautiful inside and still used regularly.

  • Description: Toslob Festival is celebrated during the 2nd week of December in honor of patron Immaculate.

  • Description: The town of Daanglungsod serves as the launchpad for Oslob Cebu Paragliding Development, which conducts tandem paragliding rides from local hills.
