How to Get to Sibugay Mountain Resort

OPTION 1 (BY JEEPNEY/MULTICAB)

Entry Point is in ORMOC PORT.

  • From the port, walk to Ormoc City Terminal near the Ormoc Public Market/2go Express ticketing.
  • Then, ride a jeepney/multicab bound for Albuera. Be sure to inform the driver that you will hop off at the main highway of Albuera going to Sibugay Mountain Resort.
  • Lastly, ride a Habal-Habal or Motorcycle going to Sibugay Mountain Resort.

(HOMEBOUND)

  • Wait for a jeepney/multicab in the area or ride a habal-habal.

OPTION 2 (BY BOAT W/ BUS/VAN)

Entry Point is in CEBU PIER 4 via HILONGOS

CHECK FAST CRAFT SCHEDULE & FARE HERE

  • From Pier 4, ride the Slow Boats (Roble Shipping Lines or Gabisan Lines) & Fast Boat (MV Superjoy) bound for Hilongos. Fare is about PHP 310.00 ( SGD$ 6.89, US$ 6.2, € 5.17) – PHP 2,000.00 ( SGD$ 44.45, US$ 40, € 33.33) for Slow Boats and PHP 550.00 ( SGD$ 12.23, US$ 11, € 9.17) for Fast Boats/Crafts. Travel Time is about 5-6 hours for the slow boats and 2-3 hours for the fast boat.
  • Then walk or ride a motorcycle to Hilongos Public Terminal.
  • At the Market/Terminal, ride a bus/van to Ormoc/Albuera. Travel Time is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Fare is PHP 200.00 – PHP 350.00 ( SGD$ 5.00 ,US$ 4.0, € 3.33) – ( SGD$ 8.75 ,US$ 7.0, € 5.83).
  • Be sure to inform the driver that you will hop off at the main highway of Albuera going to Sibugay Mountain Resort.
  • Lastly, ride a Habal-Habal or Motorcycle going to Sibugay Mountain Resort.

(HOMEBOUND)

  • Wait for any bus/van in the area or ride a habal-habal/motorcycle.
  • Note: You can arrange for your motorcycle driver to wait for you so that you won’t have a hard time going out of the area.

OPTION 3 (BY BOAT W/ BUS/VAN)

Entry Point is in CEBU PIER 4 via BAYBAY.

  • From Pier 4, ride the Slow Boats (RORO Ferries) & Fast Boat (MV Superjoy) bound for Hilongos. Fare is about PHP 310.00 ( SGD$ 6.89, US$ 6.2, € 5.17) – PHP 2,000.00 ( SGD$ 44.45, US$ 40, € 33.33) for Slow Boats and PHP 580.00 ( SGD$ 12.89, US$ 11.6, € 9.67) for Fast Boats/Crafts. Travel Time is about 5-6 hours for the slow boats and 2-3 hours for the fast boat.
  • Then walk to Baybay Transportation Terminal.
  • At the terminal, ride a VAN/BUS bound for Ormoc/Albuera. Fare is PHP 200.00 – PHP 350.00 ( SGD$ 5.00 ,US$ 4.0, € 3.33) – ( SGD$ 8.75 ,US$ 7.0, € 5.83) . Travel time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

OPTION 5 (BY AIRPLANE & BUS/VAN) (From Cebu or Manila)

  • There are actually daily flights from Manila to Tacloban and Cebu to Tacloban. The flight takes at least an hour and twenty (20) minutes if your entry point is Manila. Air travel takes about forty-five (45) minutes or less if your entry point is Cebu.
  • After arriving at Tacloban Domestic Airport (San Jose, Tacloban City), go to Tacloban City Bus Terminal via taxicab or transfer service. 
  • From Tacloban City Bus Terminal, one can easily go to the Ormoc and then Albuera by taking a three-hour bus or van ride bound for Ormoc.
  • Once you reached Ormoc Terminal, ride a jeepney/multicab bound for Albuera.
  • Then, ride a jeepney/multicab bound for Albuera. Be sure to inform the driver that you will hop off at the main highway of Albuera going to Sibugay Mountain Resort.
  • Lastly, ride a Habal-Habal or Motorcycle going to Sibugay Mountain Resort.

Sibugay Mountain Resort is located in Albuera, Leyte. It has a swimming pool and a river. The resort is just ahead the famous beach in leyte tourist spots – Sabin Resort Hotel and Baybayon ni Agalon.

The Sibugay Mountain Resort is actually an off-shoot of the ongoing environment preservation program of the Albuera watershed project. The resort has operational structures such as its swimming pool, equally beautifully designed open cottages, and a hanging bridge to cross toward a VIP cottage.

A kind of fish called the gara rufa fish lives and reproduces in the pools of several Turkish river systems and hot springs. They are now included in contemporary spa treatments, where they feast on clients’ dead skin (exfoliation).
