Lantaw’s cross is now a permanent fixture as the 14th station during the Lenten Via Crucis– the 2 km distance from the Catholic church is a reflection of Christ’s own 2 km march into Calvary.

It is the perfect distance for all skill levels and you can hike early in the morning for sunrise and late at night for sunset. Both have very stunning picturesque landscapes. You really need to trek to reach the peak but it’s really worth it.

This area is temporarily closed at the moment but it is one of the attractions in Palompon that is being developed. The first stop will be an abandoned lighthouse that overlooked the entire Tabuk Marine Park. Its white paint, although seemingly new, could not hide how rundown it actually was. Still, visitors can choose to climb all the way to the top of it. Other than the park, Palompon’s town center and surrounding mountains were also visible from the structure.

The site currently contains a Zipline, Skybike, Hiking Trails, Caves, and an exceptionally large rock face for Rappelling. Soon will feature an Aerial ropes course, playground, and amphitheater for events.
