How to Get to Sea of Clouds

✓ OPTION 1 (BY TRICYCLE)

Entry Point is in ORMOC PORT.

CHECK FAST CRAFT SCHEDULE & FARE HERE

From the port, walk to Ormoc City Terminal near the Ormoc Public Market/2go Express ticketing.
Then, ride a VAN or MetroBus bound for Baybay. Fare for Van is PHP 120.00 ( SGD$ 3.00, US$ 2.67, € 2.4). The fare for MetroBus is PHP 85.00 ( SGD$ 2.13, US$ 1.89, € 1.42). Travel time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
At Baybay Terminal, ride a motorcycle going to Brgy. Villa Solidaridad. Travel time is about 40-45 minutes. Depart from Baybay terminal between 4:30 and 5:00 am.
Note: Public transportation is not available during this time, so it is necessary to have your own vehicle.
At Brgy. Villa Solidaridad barangay gym, you can seek assistance from the local residents present there. Typically, residents are already on the road at this time. If you don’t find anyone, drive around 200 meters from the gym to the intersection, where you will see a waiting shed on the right side.

✓ OPTION 2 (BY BOAT W/ BUS/VAN)

Entry Point is in CEBU PIER 4 via HILONGOS

From Pier 4, ride the Slow Boats (Roble Shipping Lines or Gabisan Lines) & Fast Boat (MV Superjoy) bound for Hilongos. Fare is about PHP 310.00 ( SGD$ 6.89, US$ 6.2, € 5.17) – PHP 2,000.00 ( SGD$ 44.45, US$ 40, € 33.33) for Slow Boats and PHP 550.00 ( SGD$ 12.23, US$ 11, € 9.17) for Fast Boats/Crafts. Travel Time is about 5-6 hours for the slow boats and 2-3 hours for the fast boat.
Then walk or ride a motorcycle to Hilongos Public Terminal.
At the Market, ride a bus/van to Baybay. Travel Time is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Fare is PHP 200.00 – PHP 350.00 ( SGD$ 5.00 ,US$ 4.0, € 3.33) – ( SGD$ 8.75 ,US$ 7.0, € 5.83).
At Baybay Terminal, ride a motorcycle going to Brgy. Villa Solidaridad. Travel time is about 40-45 minutes. Depart from Baybay terminal between 4:30 and 5:00 am.

✓ OPTION 6 (BY AIRPLANE & BUS/VAN) (From Cebu or Manila)

There are actually daily flights from Manila to Tacloban and Cebu to Tacloban. The flight takes at least an hour and twenty (20) minutes if your entry point is Manila. Air travel takes about forty-five (45) minutes or less if your entry point is Cebu.
After arriving at Tacloban Domestic Airport (San Jose, Tacloban City), go to Tacloban City Bus Terminal via taxicab or transfer service.
From Tacloban City Bus Terminal, one can easily go to the Ormoc by taking a two-hour bus or van ride bound for Baybay. Ask to be dropped at Van-Van’s or Duptours terminal for a van for Baybay.
At the terminal, Hop on a Van-van’s or Duptours van en route to Maasin City, Southern Leyte via Baybay city. The van fare is P150 and the trip usually takes about two hours.

What’s in Sea of Clouds?

The Eastern Sea of Clouds in Baybay, Leyte is a natural wonder that draws visitors from all over the world. This breathtaking phenomenon occurs when the warm air from the sea meets the cool air of the mountains, creating a sea of clouds that stretches as far as the eye can see.

This stunning sight can be experienced from several different vantage points around Baybay, including the famous Sky Cafe perched atop a mountain. From here, visitors can witness the clouds rolling in from the east, creating an ethereal and dreamlike atmosphere that is truly unforgettable.

While waiting for the sunrise and clouds to set in below, one can visit the store there. There are lots of stores where you can buy food to eat. You can eat breakfast like tapsilog and many more. But you may bring your own snacks and food.

The best time to experience the Eastern Sea of Clouds is during the early morning hours, when the sun is just beginning to rise. As the light changes, the clouds take on different hues and colors, creating a truly magical and otherworldly experience.

Visitors can explore the area by taking a trek up one of the many mountain trails, or by taking a scenic drive through the winding mountain roads. Along the way, they’ll encounter stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including lush green forests, sparkling rivers, and towering mountains.

There are native-style houses called kubo. There’s a horse which you can ride on and you’ll pay for it amounting 50 pesos or almost $1. If you don’t want to ride the horse, you can pet them though. Don’t worry, it’s friendly.

A native-style cafe that offers luscious meals and snacks situated in the Eastern Sea of Clouds, Brgy. Villa Solidaridad, Baybay City can be found in the area.
