HOW TO GET TO BAYBAY
Direct Flights from Manila, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and more are being served to Tacloban. Flights are operated by Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and AirAsia.

Board a plane going to Tacloban from Manila.
At Tacloban Airport, ride a jeepney to ‘Downtown’ or the city proper for P50. Ask to be dropped at Van-Van’s or Duptours terminal for a van for Baybay.
At the terminal, hop on a Van-van’s or Duptours van en route to Maasin City, Southern Leyte via Baybay city. The van fare is P150 and the trip usually takes about two hours.

Minahal Kita Native Restaurant is a restaurant located at Diversion Road in Baybay City near the bridge at Diversion Road. It opened last 2016.
The road to the restaurant is properly cemented and is easily accessible by any kind of vehicle. But commuting to this place is a bit of a hassle since no public vehicle passes this road since it is a shortcut road between towns here in Leyte.

2. See the Magnificent 16,000 LED Roses at Lintaon Peak

Lintaon Peak, the city’s highest point, the peak is comprised of white and red roses embedded in the grassy meadow forming the phrase “I Love Baybay”. The LED lights are an astonishing sight that can be seen kilometers away at the city proper. The peak overlooks Camotes Sea, and the nearby islands of Cuatro Islas in Inopacan town and Camotes in Cebu.

Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church is an example of a Spanish-era structure constructed in 1852 by Fr. Vicente E. Cronado and continued by Maestro Proceso who came from Manila to finish the work. It was gutted by fire in 1866 except for the Holy Cross Chapel. The church was finally finished in 1870 after Capitan Mateo Espinoso, a sculptor and painter of renown, put on the finishing touches. The altar and the rails as they stand today are a credit to his genius.

Mount Pangasugan is a mountain in the province of Leyte in the Philippines. It is approximately 1,150 meters tall, and located to the north of the city of Baybay. The mountain is densely vegetated, very steep, and home to a remarkable number of plant and animal species.

Tan-awan Peak is not yet listed by the Department of Tourism as a trekking site, hence you won’t find accredited tour guides and established hiking trails. Thanks to the power of social media, Tan-awan peak is now gaining popularity!
The hike starts at the junction of the Balan Store. It’s a concrete barangay road but has a dead end that is inaccessible by any motor vehicles. From there, it’s time to coordinate with the locals and ask for assistance in tour guiding. No worries though as there are a lot of locals who are experts in the place.
